Marbles on the Run

Can you build a racetrack and let your marbles run?

This activity will test your creativity and problem-solving skills and get you working as a team. Plus it’s lots of fun.

Cardboard tubing, scissors, masking tape

Step 1

Cut your cardboard tube in half lengthways, so it looks like a drainpipe. This will be the track your marble runs on.

Step 2

Using the tape, stick the first piece of track to a wall, door or window. You’ll need to put it at an angle so the marble can run down.

Step 3

Now add another piece of track. Put it below the first, so your marble can roll from one piece of track to the next.

Step 4

Make your track as long as you like, just keep adding more pieces. Use whatever you have around the house to balance track pieces on – tables, chairs, or anything ese you can find.

Step 5

Now test your marble track out. Put the marble at the top and let it go!

Step 6

If you’re short on space, try making a track with the tubes from inside toilet rolls. Cut them in half lengthways and use the tape to build your track on a wall.
