Let's Make a Story

Can you make your own story using pictures? Love dragons or fairies or trains? You can make your own story about anything you like.

Have a go with this fun activity that will use your imagination and boost language skills.

Old magazines and newspapers., Blank paper. Scissors and glue

Step 1

You’re going to tell a story using pictures cut from the magazines and papers, so start by going through them to find pictures that spark your imagination. If you’ve already got a story in mind, look for pictures that will help tell it.

Step 2

Make a storyboard on the blank paper by drawing a grid. It’s best to start with no more than six frames on your storyboard, but you could make a longer one later if you like.

Step 3

Cut out the pictures and stick them onto your storyboard to tell your story. If you’re struggling to find the right picture, you could always draw it.

Now tell your story. Let your imagination run wild and make your story as crazy as you like!
