The LEGO Foundation is managed by a board of directors composed of six members elected in accordance with its charter. The board approves the strategy of the LEGO Foundation and makes decisions about how the Foundation directs its use of resources, including grants.

Sidsel Marie Kristensen
General Counsel at KIRKBI A/S. Sidsel holds a Master of Law from Aarhus University and a Master in International and Euro-pean Business Law from University of Leuven. Sidsel is a member of the Board of Directors in Merlin Entertainments Ltd., Koldingvej 2, Billund A/S and a number of subsidiaries in the KIRKBI Group.
Malou holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. She is an experienced ex-ecutive with wide-ranging leadership experience across global technology companies coupled with experience from working as a Member of Parliament in Denmark and a range of Non-Executive positions, including at KIRKBI A/S, which she joined in 2019. Throughout her career, Malou has been working in the interface between the public and private sectors focusing on technology, education, and science and in her political career she also served as a Spokesperson for Science, Technology, and Innovation.
Mabel van Oranje
Mabel is a global advocate for equality, justice and freedom and serial entrepreneur for social change. During the last decade, she played a catalytic role in the creation and growth of Girls Not Brides: The Global Partnership to End Child Marriage, the Girls First Fund and VOW for Girls. Mabel is currently a board member of Fondation Chanel, the Sigrid Rausing Trust and VOW for Girls (chair). She is also an advisor to Apolitical Academy Global, Co-Impact’s Gender Fund, Global Witness, the Graca Machel Trust and The Elders. Elhadj As Sy
Elhadj As Sy is the Chair of the Kofi Annan Foundation Board, and Co-chair of the WHO/World Bank Global Pandemic Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB). In addition to these functions, Mr. Sy is also Governor at the Wellcome Trust, and a member of the Governing Board of Interpeace as well as numerous other boards and organizations. Mr. Sy has extensive experience in leadership roles in the humanitarian, health, environment, development sectors, and has previously served as the Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) IFRC ‐ the world’s largest humanitarian network. Prior to this appointment, he served at a senior level with UNICEF, UNAIDS, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and other agencies for more than 30 years. He was UNICEF’s Director of Partnerships and Resource Development in New York, Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa and Global Emergency Coordinator for the Horn of Africa. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Sy was Director, HIV/AIDS Practice with the United Nations Development Programme in New York. Before that, he worked with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria as its Africa Regional Director and later as Director of Operational Partnerships and Country Support in Geneva. Mr. Sy has also held the positions of UNAIDS Regional Director for Eastern and Southern Africa and Representative in New York. From 1988 to 1997, he served as Director of Health and Development Programmes with Environment and Development Action in the Third World in Dakar, Senegal. A national of Senegal and a graduate from the Vienna Diplomatic Academy, Mr Sy speaks English, French and German.
